The Armored Official Bring Asian décor to your home with a hand-carved, terracotta replica of The Armored Official, outfitted in early Chinese weaponry and armor. The Armored Officials were part of First Emperor Qin Shi Huang Di’s army that conquered rival kingdoms between 246 BC – 210 B.C. Life-sized terracotta sculptures of armored officials were commissioned by the emperor to commemorate their bravery—and to protect the immortality-obsessed ruler in the afterlife. These authentically crafted reproductions – exact replicas of the ones uncovered by archeologists in pit 2 in the mid-1970s – display standard Chinese chest armor fastened by cross straps on the back, over a flared battle robe, as well as ornate scarves around the neck to possibly signify his high rank.Please read terms and conditions before ordering.
